Ap 114.  THE "KINGDOM OF HEAVEN" AND THE "KINGDOM OF GOD". http://levendwater.org/companion/index_companion.html

We have seen in Ap. 112 that the word "kingdom", like the Greek basileia, has regard to sovereignty rather than territory, and to the sphere of its exercise rather than to its extent.  Using the word "kingdom" in this sense, and in that which is conveyed in its English termination "dom", which is short for dominion, we note that the former expression, "the Kingdom of heaven", occurs only in Matthew, where we find it thirty-two times (*1).

But in the parallel passages in the other Gospels we find, instead, the expression "the Kingdom of God" (e.g. cp. Matt. 11:11 with Luke 7:28). The explanation of this seeming difference is that the Lord spoke in Aramaic; certainly not in the Greek of the Gospel documents.  See Ap. 94. III.

Now "heaven" is frequently used by the Figure Metonymy (of the Subject), Ap. 6 for God Himself, Whose dwelling is there.  See Ps. 73:9.  Dan. 4:26, 29.  2Chron. 32:20.  Matt. 21:25.  Luke 15:21 ("I have sinned against heaven" is thus contrasted with the words "and in thy sight").  John 3:27.

Our suggestion is that in all the passages where the respective expressions occur, identical words were spoken by the Lord, "the Kingdom of heaven". However, when it came to putting them into Greek, Matthew was Divinely guided to retain the figure of speech literally ("heaven"), so as to be in keeping with the special character, design, and scope of his Gospel (see Ap. 96); while, in the other Gospels, the figure was translated as being what it also meant, "the Kingdom of God".  Thus, while the same in a general sense, the two expressions are to be distinguished in their meaning and in their interpretation, as follows:--

The Kingdom (or Sovereignty) of HEAVEN

·         Has Messiah for its King;

·         It is from heaven; and under the heavens upon the earth;

·         It is limited in its scope;

·         It is political in its sphere;

·         It is Jewish and exclusive in its character;

·         It is national in its aspect;

·         It is the special subject of Old Testament prophecy;

·         And it is dispensational in its duration.

The Kingdom (or Sovereignty) of GOD

·         Has God for its Ruler;

·         It is in heaven, over the earth;

·         It is unlimited in its scope;

·         It is moral and spiritual in its sphere;

·         It is inclusive in its character (embracing the natural and spiritual seeds of Abraham, "the heavenly calling", and the "Church" of the Mystery).  Hence,

·         It is universal in its aspect;

·         It is (in its wider aspect) the subject of New Testament revelation;

·         And will be eternal in its duration.

We are to overcome the evils of the cares of this fallen earth, by filling the mind and heart with the concerns of the Kingdom of God, a great soul-filling and mind-absorbing end; we are to struggle after His righteousness—the victory of good in this world, while we continue to aim for personal perfection. We achieve this by taking each day as it comes from the hands of a gracious God, permitting only the duties of the day to claim our thought. Such a frame of mind is an inexhaustible source of strength towards a successful struggle for existence.

Matthew 7:6--8

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

7 Ask, [in prayer] and it shall be given you; seek, [search God’s Word diligently] and ye shall find; knock, [at the door of heaven] and it shall be opened unto you.

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

The meaning of (verse 6) is that one should not present beautiful and noble things to those who have no capacity to appreciate them.

(Vv 7—11)  Importunity in Prayer The imperatives in these verses could be translated,

1.      Keep on asking;

2.      Make a regular practice of seeking;

3.      Continue knocking.

Perseverance in prayer is greatly emphasised in the teaching of Jesus and in the N.T. generally. It is the inwrought (worked in) or heartfelt prayer that availeth much.

James 5:16  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Importunity (persistence in solicitation) implies that the thing desired is a deeply felt  want, which we consider indispensable for our moral development. The other element in prayer, which is stressed in these verses, is that of trust in a heavenly Father.

How to Pray (with an illustration).

Only Luke says Jesus was Himself was praying, when His disciples asked Him to teach them to pray like that; also that John the Baptist gave similar instructions to his converts.

The Lord’s Prayer, as it stands in the best MSS. of Luke, runs as follows.

“Father, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come;

give us day by day our bread for the coming day;

and forgive us our sins, as we ourselves forgive everyone who is in debt to us,

and bring us not into temptation.”

Luke’s version is in prose; (Prose is a form of language, which applies ordinary grammatical structure, and natural flow of speech rather than rhythmic structure (as in traditional poetry),

Matthew 6:9—13 are rhythmical, and its form is probably that of the primitive church liturgy. Luke gives us the original form of the prayer, as it stood in Q, though Marcion had an additional clause in place of Matthew’s “Thy will be done,” &c., namely, “Let Thy Holy Spirit  come upon us and cleanse us.” This is not specially Marcionite, so may be genuine. Abba might mean “Father” or “our Father,” and which art in Heaven means simply “God.”

Matthew 6:9—13

09 After this manner therefore pray ye: “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen”.

Matthew 7: 11, 13—14

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father Which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?

13 Enter ye in at the strait [narrow] gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there [will] be which go in thereat [that way]:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

(V14) Because the gate is narrow, and the way to it, which implies the work must be done, to navigate safely through the strait gate; will be undertaken only by those willing to put in the effort required.

It will take effort, and in this busy life on fallen earth, it will not be easy for those rearing a family, however; one must apply himself by praying for help and assistance in the task before you, if a better life is to be attained for yourself and your families.

What is the alternative?

You can choose the way of many if you wish. and be borne along with a large number of those who have no inkling of the way to life, but only foresee hardship, and slavery on the treadmill of commerce and consumerism, culminating in death and passing such a curse unto your family.

It is a no brainer; if you have to slave for someone let it be for yourself and your family, and make your goal be the strait gate. Follow this link which will help you enormously. http://godsplan.org.uk/strangestsecret.htm play& listen to it at least once a day. More if possible.

Matthew 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Children = sons, Ap 108 III (and heirs). A Hebraism denoting those who were related  by any ties of friendship: e.g. followers, learners, inhabitants, &c.

Weeping and gnashing of teeth = the weeping and the grinding. The Articles denoting not a state but a definate occasion and time when this event shall take place.. It was used by the Lord seven times.

Matthew 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 22: 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

So when is this definate occasion, and time, when this event shall take place?

Just as there was widespread persecution in centuries past, Bible prophecies foretell the emergence of a strong empire influenced by a church, soon to emerge and dominate the world.

1 Tim 6:9—10

09 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

According to Paul, gain consists of material wealth, while the gain that godliness brings lies in the enrichment of personality, in the content and possession of Spirit that only those can have who are at peace, on good terms with God.

Religion does not neglect normal physical needs and a rightful provision for the same, but it does apply a very ugly name to the man who thinks that the end of life is building bigger barns; for we came into the world without things, and without things pass us into the next world. Jesus talked much about the danger of riches. When the desire of the heart is to become rich, to possess many things, the needs of the higher life are apt to be crowded out and forgotten.

Root of all evil is this, covetousness after money, after possessions, as can be all too freely illustrated by those who, in going in search of riches, lose the way to life, to abiding contentment and to God. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/beastimage.htm

Who or What is the prophetic beast?

1. Bible prophecy reveals events of our time and world-shaking events soon to change your life. A major world-shaking event is foretold in the symbolic language of a mysterious world-dominating wild beast. The Bible is God’s book of history, prophecy and revealed knowledge of God’s purpose and master plan for humanity from its beginning on into eternity. But the Bible is primarily a book about the chosen nation of Israel, and other nations that have come into direct contact with Israel. We know little concerning nations or, whether there were nations on Earth, prior to the great Flood. Soon after the Flood, Nimrod founded the city-states of Babylon, Nineveh and others. In due time such nations as Egypt, Assyria, Babylonia, the Aramæan states, Israel, Phoenicia and others developed in the Middle East. By the end of the 7th century B.C., King Nebuchadnezzar had founded the first world empire, or union of nations. The Bible does reveal the history, and prophecy from now, of the system of Gentile world empires starting with Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon on to the Second Coming of Christ, as well as the history and yet future prophecy concerning Israel. This booklet will cover the true significance of these two systems of nations, and what it means to us today, as well as what is prophesied for the imminent future. Who is the mysterious wild “beast” of Revelation 13 and 17? If you have his mark, you must suffer the seven last plagues! http://www.godsplan.org.uk/propheticbeast.htm

A storm is heading our way, but not the conventional storm we all associate with bad weather; (although that too is on the cards). The storm I am envisioning is the one only a few in this world are aware of. It is a political, religious scenario aimed at a world that is very much unprepared for anything we have ever seen before in our lifetime, on this fallen planet earth.

The beginning of this storm is just beginning in earnest, in this man’s year of 2013 (Ap 6).

Already we have heard the rumblings of thunder over the past years; they are however becoming louder by the hour, but unfortunately falling on deaf ears; and sightless eyes.

Therefore, I am going to point out these rumblings to those who wish to know, and consider doing something personally about it, while “wailing and gnashing of teeth” await those who do not. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/stormcoming.htm

Isaiah. 55: 8—9

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” Saith the LORD.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

The earth, the home of finite, fallen man, rests under a curse.  However, the heavens beyond our solar system, the heavens in which God dwells; are far removed from the realm covered by the curse. God uses a contrast between the two in order to show the wide, unbridgeable gulf, which separates His thoughts and ways from man's thoughts and ways.

(In the preceding respect, note that the future destruction of the heavens [along with the earth], followed by the creation of a new heavens and a new earth (II Peter 3:7-13)], must be thought of only in connection with the one solar system in which we live;  the sun with its nine revolving planets. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/spiritualmessage.htm

2 Peter 3:7-13

07 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

08 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

09 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

The Apostles again Warned and Beaten.

God’s Word sets out the rules for us human beings pointing us in the way of goodness; once again, we have a choice of Good or evil. Much as the Apostles had. The displeasure of the Sanhedrin (the Hasmonean court in the Land of Israel) was justified in their own eyes, for the Apostles were disobeying the command they laid upon Peter and John only shortly before.

Acts 4:18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

The total defence of the Twelve here was that they were obeying a higher authority than that of the Sanhedrin.

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, “We ought to obey God rather than men”.

It appears from the narrative that in reality the charge of responsibility for the death of Jesus weighed most heavily upon the Israelite solons. (Solon was an Athenian political leader, lawmaker, and poet. He is particularly remembered for his efforts to legislate against political, economic, and moral decline). for Peter solemnly repeated his awful accusation before the council.

Acts 5:30--32

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

32 And we are His witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

The stoning of the Apostles may have resulted, as later in the case of Stephen, had it not been for the wise counsel of Rabban Gamaliel. Even though the more zealous members labelled him as an obstructionist, and too conservative, the whole council accepted his policy. Gamaliel argued that whether the work was really of God or not they should await developments. If, as they supposed the Christian movement were one of enthusiasm only, it would soon be deflated. If, on the other hand, God were really speaking to these men, as they affirmed, it was not the place of the Sanhedrin to oppose it. Thus, Sadducees led the opposition to the Messiah group, and a noted Pharisee advised moderation.

Acts 5:40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

Presumably, the stripes were given as a punishment for disobeying the previous order of the council, and so it is even today in Councils, and even in Government.

Help from God; the Division of Families.

The promise of the help of the Spirit of God in times of emergency and the prediction of the inevitable division in families owing to the reception of the Gospel by some of the members are both repeated from the instructions  in;

Matthew 10:17—22

17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour, what ye shall speak.

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Luke 21:12—17

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake.

13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

17 And ye shall be hated of all men for My name's sake.

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, “We ought to obey God rather than men”.

It is everyman’s duty to stand his ground for what he/she believes. There is enough strong evidence on this site for those who wish to make a decision, to do so. Verse 5:39 of Acts expresses this more than any amount of persuasion. The old adage, “A man convinced against his/her will, is of the same opinion still” stands in perpetuity, particularly when it comes to deciding a topic as big as this. However, deciding it is, one way or the other, for if you do not make a decision either way, then you will definitely default to Satan’s corner.

And then; The Restoration of a Ruined Creation. 6 Days or 6000 Years of Creation

On January 3, 2014, by Milton Carnes

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with YHUH as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night, there are however, a few questions that need to be asked;

1.      When do we know to make the substitution; a day means 1000 years or vice versa.

2.      Secondly, if the DAY is called LIGHT in Genesis 1:5, wouldn’t that mean that the day is the same as 1000 years?

3.      What about the night, remember, Elohim (Alahiym) did not call the night/darkness DAY.

According to Genesis 1:14-16, the sun, moon, and stars determine the years. How were the years determined previously in Genesis 1:1-13 being that the sun, moon, and the stars, which were not created until the 4000th year; if a day is the same as 1000 years? Let us do some transposition on Genesis 1 & 2 since a day is supposed to be the same as 1000 years:

Genesis 1

01 In the beginning Elohim (Alahiym) created the heaven and the earth.

02 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim (Alahiym) moved upon the face of the waters.

03 And Elohim (Alahiym) said, Let there be light: and there was light.

04 And Elohim (Alahiym) saw the light, that it was good: and Elohim (Alahiym) divided the light from the darkness.

05 And Elohim (Alahiym) called the light Day (1000 years?), and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day (1000 years).

08 And Elohim (Alahiym) called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day (2000th years).

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day (3000th years).

14 And Elohim (Alahiym) said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day (1000 years?) From the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And Elohim (Alahiym) made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day (1000 years?), and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And Elohim (Alahiym) set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day (1000 years?) and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and Elohim (Alahiym) saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day (4000th years).

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day (5000th years).

27 So Elohim (Alahiym) created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim (Alahiym) created he him; male and female created he them.

31 And Elohim (Alahiym) saw everything that he had made in 6 Days Or 6000 Years of Creation

On January 3, 2014, in General Bible Study, by Milton Carnes.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord [YHUH] as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

27 So Elohim (Alahiym) created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim (Alahiym) created he him; male and female created he them.

31 And Elohim (Alahiym) saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (6000th years)

Genesis 2

01 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

02 And on the seventh day (7000th year) Elohim (Alahiym) ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day (7000th year) from all his work which he had made

03 And Elohim (Alahiym) blessed the seventh day (7000th year), and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim (Alahiym) created and made.

Let the Scriptures Speak:

Exodus 20:8-11 King James Version (KJV)

08 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

09 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YHUH thy Elohim (Alahiym): in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days YHUH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YHUH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

What should we get from this? Six days of work and rest on the seventh or Sabbath day. Why? Because YHUH made the heaven and earth in six days and rested the Sabbath or seventh day. See the correlation?

What about 2 Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4? In context, these passages simply mean that YHUH is not affected by time. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

If the sun, moon, and stars determine the year, that would mean that they would have been created before the first day or first 1000th year. There is no scriptural evidence to prove this. We have no authority to add to the word of YHUH. and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (6000th years)

Genesis 2:1—3

1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day (7000th year), Elohim (Alahiym) ended his work which he had made; and He rested on the seventh day (7000th year) from all His work which He had made

3 And Elohim (Alahiym) blessed the seventh day (7000th year), and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which Elohim (Alahiym) created and made.

11 For in six days YHUH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YHUH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

What should we get from this?

Six days of work and rest on the seventh or Sabbath day.

It was because YHUH made the heaven and earth in six days and rested on the Sabbath or seventh day. See http://www.godsplan.org.uk/propheticbeast.htm
