Gospel of Paul
Indictment of humanity
J E Bradburn
Pauls gospel indicted all humanity for the crime of rejecting God and His rightful authority. Under the influence of Adams sin, http://www.godsplan.org.uk/book1.htm mankind plunged into the depths of depravity so that they were utterly unable to fulfil the righteous demands of God; and deserved only the wrath of God.
Romans 1:1832 (KJV)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: http://www.godsplan.org.uk/
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/persecution.htm
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/satanbound.htm
Romans 3:920 (KJV)
09 What then? Are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Romans 9: 1219 (KJV)
12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
15 For He saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew My power in thee, and that My name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18 Therefore hath He mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will He hardeneth.
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth He yet find fault? For who hath resisted His will? http://www.godsplan.org.uk/parables.htm
The sinner was alienated from god and at enmity with Him (The extreme ill will or hatred that exists between enemies)
Colossians 1:21(KJV) And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.
Consequently, the sinners only hope was the gospel which embodied Gods power to save those who had faith in Christ. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/faith.htm
Romans 1:16 (KJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/samaria.htm
The focus of Pauls gospel was Jesus Christ:
Romans 1:34 (KJV)
3 Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; (Hebrew =Jehovah His son Elohim) https://levendwater.org/companion/append4.html
4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: http://www.godsplan.org.uk/gifts.htm
Paul affirmed Jesus humanity and His deity. Christ who was born of Mariam and Joseph through the house of Jesse the father of David; was born in the flesh and was reared in Israel. Came in the likeness of sinful man
Romans 8:3 (KJV) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
And had assumed the form of a humble obedient servant. (Hebrew Elohim) https://levendwater.org/companion/append4.html
Philippians 2:78 (KJV)
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Yet He was the visible form of the invisible God (JEHOVAH) Colossians 1:15 (KJV) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: all the fullness of Deity living in bodily form.
Colossians 2:9 (KJV) For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. The very nature of God Philippians 1:6 (KJV) That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. And possessed the title Lord (Greek title for the God of the Old Testament), The name above all names:
Philippians 2:911 (KJV)
09 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Paul believed that by virtue of His sinlessness, Jesus was qualified to be the sacrifice which would make sinners right with God.
2 Corinthians 5:911 (KJV)
09 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; http://www.godsplan.org.uk/secondadvent.htm that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
Jesus was qualified to be the sacrifice which would make sinners right with God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
In His death on the cross, Jesus became the curse for sin, and the righteous died for the unrighteous. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/thesufferingsandglory.htm
Galatians 3:1014 (KJV)
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/faith.htm
12 And the law is not of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: http://godsplan.org.uk/christtheredeemer.htm
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/internalspirit.htm
Romans 3: 68 (KJV)
6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? http://www.godsplan.org.uk/immortality2.htm
7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto His glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? Whose damnation is just?
Salvation is a free gift http://www.godsplan.org.uk/ granted to believers and grounded solely in Gods grace. Salvation is not dependent upon human merit, activity, or effort, but only upon Gods undeserved love.
Ephesians 2:810 (KJV)
08 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
09 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus [Hebrew Elohim] unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. https://levendwater.org/companion/append4.html
Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Those who trust Jesus for their salvation, confess Him as Lord, and believe that God Jehovah raised Him from the dead. Romans 10:9 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. From Gods wrath, and become righteous in Gods sight Romans 5:9 (KJV) Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Adopted as Gods children:
Romans 8:1517 (KJV)
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
And transformed by the spirits power:
Galatians 5:2224 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
At the coming of Christ, believers will be resurrected
1 Corinthians 15:12-57 (KJV)
12 Now if Christ be preached that He rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ: whom He raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death [Satan], by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ's at His coming. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/secondadvent.htm
24 Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/kingdom.htm
25 For he must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/deathswallowedup.htm
27 For He hath put all things under His feet. But when He saith all things are put under Him, it is manifest that He is accepted, which did put all things under Him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
29 Else what shall they do which are baptised for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? Why are they then baptised for the dead?
30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/doctrineofdemons.htm
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? http://www.godsplan.org.uk/internalspirit.htm
Ecclesiastes 12:7 (KJV) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it dies:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased Him, and to every seed His own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in in-corruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/book1.htm
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit in-corruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep [die], but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised in-corruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on in-corruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on in-corruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Will partake fully of the Sons [Elohim] righteous character
Phil 3:20-21 (KJV)
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: http://www.godsplan.org.uk/internalspirit.htm
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself.
And will live forever with the Lord
1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
By his union with Christ through faith, http://www.godsplan.org.uk/faith.htm the believer participated spiritually in Christs death, resurrection, and ascension.
Romans 6:17 (KJV)
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptised into Jesus Christ were baptised into His death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
I believe in the Father, and the Son,
Who died on the stake of crucifixion,
Was dead , and buried in a sepulchre
At the garden of Gethsemane, and
Arose three days later where He now
Sits with His Father in heaven.
Ephesians 2: 45 (KJV)
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved ;)
Consequently, the believer has been liberated from the power of sin, death, and the Law. He is a new, though imperfect, creation that is continually being made more Christlike.
Colossians 3:910 (KJV)
09 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds.
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created Him:
2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Although the believer is no longer under the authority of the written Law, the Holy Spirit functions as a new internal law which leads him to naturally and spontaneously fulfil the Laws righteous demands.
Romans 8:14 (KJV)
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
As a result the law free gospel does not encourage unrighteous behaviour in believers. Such behaviour is contrary to their new identity in Christ. The union of believers with Christ brings them into union with other believers in the body of Christ. Believers exercise their spiritual gifts in order to help one another mature, to serve Christ, and glorify Him, which is the highest purpose.
Ephesians 3:21 (KJV) Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Ephesians 4:1113 (KJV)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
Christ now rules over us as its Head, its highest authority:
Ephesians 1:22 (KJV) And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, http://www.godsplan.org.uk/thesufferingsandglory.htm
When Christ comes again, His reign over the world will be consummated and all that exists will be placed under His absolute authority.
Philippians 2:1011 (KJV)
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 4:20 (KJV) Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 1:10 (KJV) That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him:
2 Thessalonians 1: 510 (KJV)
05 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: http://www.godsplan.org.uk/jezreelvalley21-27twelve.htm
06 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
07 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, http://www.godsplan.org.uk/secondadvent.htm
08 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
09 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power; [Wheat & Tares] http://www.godsplan.org.uk/parables.htm
10 When He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
